A calculator that selects a complete gutter system instead of a salesperson
The customer enters roof dimensions and gets a product list, quantities and a finished PDF. No call and no waiting for a quote.
Situation
Selecting a gutter system requires knowledge of installation, products and relationships between components, then a correct quantity calculation. The customer cannot do that alone, so they call a salesperson or contractor.
Problem
Every enquiry took time on both sides: collecting dimensions, calculations and preparing a list. It also carried the risk of calculation errors, missed components, incomplete orders, too many components and slower service.
What I built
- I built the whole project from scratch: the tool concept, analysis of components, relationships between roof dimensions and product quantities, the selection and calculation algorithm, 3D interface, implementation and automatic PDF generation. The tool guides the user step by step, collects data, calculates and presents the result clearly.
What changed
- The customer prepares a complete shopping list independently. The risk of ordering the wrong quantity falls, quote preparation is faster and the company can serve more customers without adding staff.
Result
A process that once required a salesperson's knowledge and manual calculation became an online tool for the customer.
